About J&M Hope Caring With Compassion

Home / About

Companionship, personal care, dementia support, and around-the-clock coverage,
delivered in the home your family already knows.

Our Story

So we built the agency we wished our own family had found. One where the caregiver who shows up Monday is the same one who shows up Thursday. Where the person answering the phone knows your mother’s name and her situation. Where the plan bends around your family instead of the other way around.

Today we serve families across St. Lucie, Martin, Indian River, and Palm Beach counties, helping seniors stay in the homes they have lived in for decades.

Home is not just a preference. For most older adults it is the single biggest factor in how well they do, how much they move, how well they eat, and how connected they stay to the people around them. Nearly every family we meet arrives wanting the same thing, which is for their parent to stay put safely for as long as possible.

Our job is to make that possible for longer than it would be otherwise. Sometimes that means hands-on personal care every morning. Sometimes it means someone to talk to on a Tuesday afternoon and a ride to the cardiologist on Thursday. The level of help matters far less than whether it is the right help, delivered by someone your family trusts.

What Working With Us Looks Like

It starts with a conversation, not a contract.

Call and describe what is happening. Fifteen minutes, no cost. If in-home care is not the right answer for your situation, we will say so.

The care plan is built in the home.

We visit, meet your loved one, walk the house for safety, and design the schedule around what actually happens there.

The plan changes when life does.

Families often start with a few hours a week and add coverage after a fall, a hospital stay, or a hard winter. Hours, days, and tasks all adjust. You never have to switch providers to change the level of care.

Somebody stays in touch.

We check in as the routine settles, and we tell you what we are noticing at home, including the things that are easy to miss from out of town.

What We Stand For

Compassion first

It is in our name for a reason. Skill can be taught. The instinct to treat an eighty-six-year-old woman the way you would treat your own grandmother cannot be. We hire for that first and train around it.

Consistency

Rotating strangers through someone's home is not care, it is scheduling. We keep the same caregiver with the same family so a real relationship has room to form, especially when memory loss is involved.

Honesty about what we do

We are a non-medical agency, and we say so plainly. We help with bathing, dressing, meals, housekeeping, errands, transportation, companionship, and medication reminders. When a family needs skilled nursing or therapy, we tell them and point them in the right direction rather than stretching to keep the business.

Dignity in the details

How someone is helped into the shower, how a caregiver speaks to a person who just asked the same question for the fourth time, whether the house looks cared for when family visits. Care is made of small moments, and we pay attention to them.

HOW IT WORKS

How We Choose Our Caregivers

Most of the difference between a good home care experience and a bad one comes down to one person walking through the door. We take that seriously.

Every caregiver goes through background screening, reference verification, and training before they are ever placed with a family. Beyond the paperwork, we look for people who are patient under pressure, who notice things without being told, and who understand that they are guests in someone’s home.

Then we match deliberately. Before care begins, we learn who your loved one is, what their day normally looks like, what they enjoy, and what they will not tolerate. We choose a caregiver who fits that person, and we keep them consistent. If the match is not right, tell us. We will find someone else without making it awkward.

Let's Talk About Your Family

The first call costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Tell us what is going on at home and we will tell you honestly what care would look like and whether you need it yet.
